ACOverCurrentProtectionDevice:
Adedicated AC over currentprotection device is required for each PV inverter.Every PVI requiresa 208V,240V or 277VAC
rated2–poleovercurrentprotectiondevice.Thefollowing is a table showingtheappropriateover currentprotectiondevice
ratingforthePVI6500and7500atdifferentservicevoltages.

ACandDCDisconnects:
TheintegralAC&DCdisconnectsarestandardfeaturesofthePVI6500‐7500inverters.ThePVsystemmayneedadditionalAC
orDCdisconnectifrequiredbytheutilityorlocalcode.
ConnectingtheACInverterWiring:
WARNING:ThewiringofthePVinverter’sACandDCconnectionsmustonlybedonewiththebuildingACcircuit
breakeroffandlockedoutandthePVarraydisconnectedorcoveredwithanopaquematerial(orothermethod
thatestablisheselectricallysafeworkingconditions).BothACandDCshouldbedisconnectedorturnedoff.
ThePVI6500‐7500invertersarenotcapableoffeedingcurrentsbackintothePVarrayfromtheACsourceincludingintoshort
circuit(s)orfault(s)inthePVarrayorstring(s).
ConnectingtheInverterWiring:
WARNING:FollowPVmodulemanufacturer’sinstallationdirections.PVarraysproduceelectricalenergywhen
exposedtolightandcouldcreateahazardouscondition.Disconnectarrayconductorswhenwiringtheinverter
orcoverthearraywithanopaquematerialpriortowiring.
WARNING:BeforeconnectingtheconnectorsofthePVmoduleto
theDCinverterterminals,checkthecorrect
polarityandadmissiblePVmodulevoltagebetweenthe(+)andthe(‐)wireconnectorsofthePVmodule.
ThePVmoduleopencircuitvoltagemustbebelow600VDC(V
pv
<600VDC)underalltemperatureconditionsper
code.
WARNING:Evenwhenintheoffposition,thefusedPVcombinerandtheDCdisconnectterminalswillremain
liveonthePVsidewhenthePVmodulesareindaylight.
Wiringtheinverter
The cover of the wiring box needs to be removed before wiring the inverter. First the DC/AC disconnect switch shall be
turnedtotheOFFpositionasshownintheFigure2.3.3.Removethe4screws,andthenthecoverofthewiringboxshownin
thefigure2.3.3and2.3.4.
