1Introduction
ThePVI6500andPVI7500aresinglephase,grid‐tiedPVinvertersdesignedtobeinterconnectedtotheelectricutilitygrid.By
followingtheinstructionsinthismanual,thePVI6500‐PVI7500canbeinstalledandoperatedsafely.Thisinstallationguideis
tobeusedasreferencefor
commissioningandasaguidelineonhowtousetheinvertermosteffectively.
Feeding power onto the grid involves conversion of the DC‐voltage from the PV‐array to grid compatible AC‐voltage by
“inverting”DCtoAC.Thisunitfeedspowerintoastandard240VACsplitphaseelectrical
systemortwophasesofa208VAC,3‐
phasecommercial,industrialorinstitutionalfacility’selectricalsystemthatisconnectedtotheelectricutilitygrid.Theinverter
canalsobeconnectedtoonephaseandneutralofa277VACelectricalservice.
IfthePVsystemandinverterareproviding
thesameamountofelectricalpowerthatthefacilityisusing,nopoweristakenfrom
orfedontotheutilitygrid.IfthefacilityisusingmorepowerthanthePVsystemisproviding,thentheutilitygridprovidesthe
balanceofpower.Ifthefacilityisusinglesspower
thanthePVsystemisgenerating,theexcessisfedintotheutilitygrid.
Be sure to look intolocal regulationsregarding netmeteringandinterconnectionin your local area.Note thatsome utilities
needtochangetheirrevenuekWhmetertoabi‐directionaltypeforpropernetmetering
measurementorincentives/billing.
